Bryan Adams Turns 56

He had the second longest running #1 song in the history of the British chart…16 weeks at #1 in the UK for “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You.” Only “I Believe” by Frankie Laine spent more weeks at #1 in the UK with 18 in 1953.

Still, when I think of Bryan Adams, who turns 56 Thursday, I think of his one hit that would fill the dance floor when I was a nightclub DJ…

“One Night Love Affair” was the fourth Top 40 hit from Bryan Adams’ “Reckless,” the first Canadian LP to sell a million copies within Canada. And if you thought that song sizzled, you ain’t seen or heard nothing yet

“It’s Only Love” was the fifth top 50 hit from “Reckless” back in 1985–and the rumors followed that Bryan and Tina were dating. And Tina is 21 years older than Bryan! Meanwhile, according to BryanAdams.org, Bryan’s ex-girlfriend claimed he was having an affair with Princess Diana around 1996 after the latter’s split with Prince Charles.

Meanwhile, I’d be remiss if I didn’t hit you with that UK #1 song that was the #1 single of 1991 in the USA…done live…
